Hafiz Ibn Taymiyyah in the Eyes of the Scholars of Deoband

A GLIMPSE OF THE BOOK

There is hardly anyone in this Ummah who denies the scholarly prowess and extraordinary intelligence of Hafiz Ibn Taymiyyah. Both his opponents and supporters agree on these qualities. Hazrat Allama Anwar Shah Kashmiri used to refer to him as “the vast ocean without shores.” However, despite his scholarly expertise and breadth, the scholars of truth in this Ummah have written extensively on his personal views, and his supporters have also written much about his virtues and accomplishments, which has led many to confusion. Therefore, there was a need for a book that reflects the path of moderation, which is the distinctive quality of the scholars of Deoband, i.e., moderation. For this important task and to clarify the Deoband school of thought, Almighty Allah chose Maulana Usman Muhammad Iqbal from England. Maulana conducted thorough research on this topic, consulting various books, and authored an outstanding book titled “Hafiz Ibn Taymiyyah in the Eyes of the Scholars of Deoband,” thereby accomplishing a monumental scholarly work.
May Allah grant Maulana’s efforts widespread acceptance and make them a source of great reward in this world and the hereafter, Ameen.
